Oh, Hell

By James Whitcomb Reilly

Oh Hell–just what is meant
by this word Hell.
They say sometimes it’s cold
as Hell,
Sometimes they say it’s hot
as Hell.
When it rains they say it’s
Hell they cry,
And it’s Hell when it’s dry.
They hate like Hell to see
it snow,
It’s a Hell of a wind when
it starts to blow.
Now how in the world can anyone
tell,
What in the Hell they mean
by this word Hell.

This mad life is Hell they
say,
When he comes in late, there’s
Hell to pay.
When she starts to yell it’s
a Hell of a note,
And it’s Hell when the kids
you have to tote.

It’s Hell when the doctor sends
you his bills,
For a Hell of a lot of trips
and pills.
And when you get this you will
know real well,
Just what is meant by this
word Hell.

Hell yes, Hell no, and oh Hell
too,
The Hell you don’t and the
Hell you do.
And what Hell of a Hell it
is,
The Hell with yours and the
Hell with His.

Now where in the Hell and oh
Hell where,
And what the Hell do you think
I care.
But the Hell of it is it’s
sure as Hell,
That we don’t know what in
the Hell is Hell.

The Hounds of Hell Defeated

By Tereese Cuenca

The hounds of Hell
have dogged my steps

so many nights
and days,

I’ve hardly
known a time of rest

Or any peaceful
ways.

The dogs of condemnation

Have torn me
from within,

How can I ever
lose them.

How can I ever
win?

Lies, despair and
hopelessness

They wound me,
vicious pack

I try to hide,
avoid the pain

But Offence
calls them back!

I cry for help, does
no one hear

How cruel can
life be?

And then the
Spirit whispers low

Call Jesus,
he’ll set you free!

He is the King of
Heaven and Earth

His Power has
no end,

No lie from
Hell can stand His Truth

His Love will
never end.

Bow down, you dogs
of hell and fear

Get back ,in
Jesus’ Name,

The King of
Glory dwells now here

I’m free in
Jesus Name!

II Corinthians 10:4-5
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the
contrary, they have divine power to demolish Strongholds. We demolish
arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge
of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,
the Messiah, the Anointed One.”

Doves of Hope

By Tereese Eldred Cuenca

THE DOVES OF HOPE, WHERE DO THEY REST,
WHEN STORMS AND TROUBLE SHAKE THEIR NEST?
WHERE DOES HOPE LIE, WHERE IS HER CLEFT?
SHE WAITES IN GENTLE QUIETNESS.

SHE’S NESTLED HERE, WITHIN THE WORD,
AND THERE SHE WAITS FOR HER RELEASE;
FROM HEARTS TO LIPS TO HEAVEN’S GATES,
HOPE FLIES ON WINGS OF TRUST AND PEACE.

THO CAGES OF DARK FEAR AND DOUBT
WOULD TRY AND KEEP HER FROM HER FLIGHT;
HOPE BURSTS THE BOUNDS OF HUMAN SIGHT,
TO GRASP GOD’S OLIVE BRANCH OF LIFE!

THE OLIVE BRANCH OF PROMISE BRIGHT,
OF GOD’S PROVISION THROUGH DARKEST NIGHT;
THE OLIVE BRANCH, NEW LIFE HAS SPRUNG,
WHEN GENTLY NOW, HOPE’S SONG IS SUNG.

HOPE’S SONG OF TRUST IN GOD ALONE
WILL BRING US TO HIS VERY THRONE;
TO SEE THE LAMB, THE ONE TRUE SON,
WHO PURIFIES AND MAKES US ONE.

I JOHN 3:1-3

“How great is the Love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called Children of God! And that IS what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are Children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, (is made known) we shall be like Him, for we shall see (comprehend) HIM AS HE IS. Everyone who has this Hope in him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
